The Poke Salat Festival is so excited to announce that Johnny Collier and The Misbehaviators will be headlining the Poke Salat Festival’s Friday Night line up! Wear your boots and be prepared to line dance, two step, slow dance and more! Johnny’s music roots are deep into Country Music from both Nashville and Muscle Shoals, but as his bio says – it’s not old country, and it’s not new country – yet it is. Founded in 1984, 2020 marks the 36th Annual Poke Salat Festival. Hosted by the Arab Downtown Association in conjunction with the City of Arab and the Arab Chamber of Commerce, The Poke Salat Festival is Arab, Alabama’s longest running festival. Held annually on the 3rd weekend in May, this festival features Poke Salat, a wonderful variety of dishes created from the “pokeweed” which grows in early spring. Stages of entertainment and music, arts/crafts and vendors are located throughout the Downtown Arab area and the merchants feature their wares with sidewalk sales and open houses.

Does your band have what it takes to win the Poke Salat Battle of the Bands Competition? The Arab Downtown Association, in conjunction with the City of Arab and the Arab Chamber of Commerce, invite you to submit a video of your band performing and enter the Battle of The Bands Competition. 1st and 2nd Place winners will perform on Friday, May 15, opening for our headlining act, Johnny Collier and The Misbehaviators. Registration forms and video links must be submitted by February 29, 2020.
Voting will begin on our Facebook page between March 15-March 20 (depending on how long it takes the Planning Committee to review all the submissions).
